Dicer is a simple application written in Processing that converts the brightness of each pixel of an image into a value between 1 and 6. This translates to a particular side of a white 6-sided die (where 1 is the brightest because it has the smallest number of pips and 6 is the darkest because it has the largest number of pips). You can then make a mosaic out of dice.
Download Dicer v1.0 (OS X, Linux, Windows, anywhere Java runs)
v1.0 Released 27 May 2011 (includes source)

HOW TO USE DICER:
1. Resize and color adjust your image using any application.
2. Select the image you wish to use (JPG, PNG, TGA, GIF).
3. Press 's' to save the data to a CSV file in the sketch's folder.
NOTES:
Large images don't work well. If the image is too large you may
receive an out of memory error (But that's not a problem; how many
dice are you going to use realistically anyways?)
CONTROLS:
s - save a CSV file
p - toggle preview
q - quit
